Colm, Brandy, Eric, Wes, and Christina at Thanksgiving Dinner

Colm, Brandy, Eric, Wes, and Christina at Thanksgiving Dinner

Wes, Eric, Sean, Colm, Christina celebrating Thanksgiving at Eric & Brandy

Hope you’ve had a great Thanksgiving holiday.

We all enjoyed a good day off yesterday, and Christina and I celebrated Thanksgiving dinner with Eric & Brandy at their house.

Unfortunately Eric’s Mom got sick, so his parents couldn’t make the trip, but Eric’s 95-years-young grandfather came out all the way from Charlotte to join us.

Wes Ruth (Eric’s grandad) is a former Navy pilot and is by FAR the sharpest 95 year old I’ve ever met.

My grandad is 98 and still going strong, but I think if they were to wrestle, I would have to give the advantage to Wes no contest! :)

Anyway, there are several things I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving holiday…

I am thankful that in this economy I have put in the time and effort to learn marketing, sales, and management skills that will help our companies and our members clients not only survive this economy but THRIVE in it!

I’m thankful that we’ve been able to share tremendous fitness business development systems, tools, and coaching with all our members and while others are struggling right now… our members continue to have their BEST MONTHS EVER!

And I’m thankful that as we continue to grow as a company over here, we’ve attracted even more great people to join our programs and “RISE UP” to new levels of achievement and success in their businesses (and therefore their lives).

Over the past month, we’ve welcomed 24 new VIP members into our AREA-EXCLUSIVE membership program. And over the next 3, 6, and 12 months these folks will all make massive LEAPS in their personal and professional growth, breaking through barriers they never thought possible.

In just the next few weeks, we now have 11 interviews lined up with more folks that want to make the leap into our top VIP program.

If you’re not on that list yet, then I encourage you to request an no-obligation info-pack and get all the details at:

http://www.NPEvip.com

Then get back to enjoying some more time off this wonderful holiday weekend with those you care about.

Best Regards,
Sean

P.S. Congrats go out to Platinum member Tony Maslan, who sent me this quick e-mail yesterday:

“Hey guys.  Just wanted to send you a quick note to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for all your help this year.  Something I would like to share with you is with today’s deposit we broke the $500K mark for gross sales for the year so far! Thanks again for all your support in reaching my BHAG goal for the year and have a great holiday!”

Last Chance! NPE Workshop Early Bird Discount Deadline Is TODAY!

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

I have shocking news to share with you, but first…

***********************************
LAST CHANCE - EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT ENDS TODAY

The deadline to take advantage of the Early Bird Discount for NPE Mega-Training Fitness Business Blueprint Workshop is TODAY (Thursday, July 31). Save 100 bucks and get the single most important and valuable tool for exploding your fit-biz profits in 2009 by registering now:

http://www.NPEMegaTraining.com

***********************************

You Will Be Shocked By This

The easy, tried and true path for a big-profit payday is for a ‘guru’ to sell a bunch of people on his or her list into attending a seminar with lots of speakers with products they want to peddle. The speakers get up on stage, give you a couple tips, get you excited about the “secrets” in their products, and then offer you a special, one-time-only opportunity to get their product at “rock-bottom” price during the seminar.

It’s worked for decades, and it will continue to work…to enrich the guru (because he or she gets 50% or more of all sales at the seminar)…and generate new customers for the speakers.

But that’s not the shocking news.

In fact, if you’ve ever attended one of those seminars, you’ve seen how they work already. You probably remember how pumped up you were by all the great “ideas” you heard, how motivated you were to try and duplicate the “success” the speakers seem to be having, and how eager you were to get your hands on their “secrets.”

You probably also remember how much “lighter” you were after dropping hundreds or more on a bunch of products at the event. And how frustrated you felt a few weeks later when you realized just how difficult it is to implement everything they told you to do.

Those seminars are like a night out with wild friends doing Tequila shooters: you catch a great buzz, inhibitions dissolve away, and everything - for the moment - is positive and fun.

Then you wake up the next day with a pounding hangover, a dry mouth and feeling emotionally spent and alone.

Because now you’re on your own. The party’s over. The alcohol or adrenaline metabolized, the reality of real life smacking you in the face.

And you’re confronted with the same problem you had before the seminar…”what now?”

I’ve been to dozens of these seminars and experienced this first hand. I know the drill. I’ve felt the adrenaline rush…and the crash.

And I spent YEARS of my life trying to piece everything together into a step-by-step plan I could follow that would finally give me the results I was desperate for.

Years of my life.

From 1989 to 1998, to be exact. Almost a decade.

Maybe I’m slower than most - maybe I’m a little thick - I really don’t know.

All I know is I really wish just ONE of those seminars lived up to the promises it made.

If I’d gotten the PLAN I needed way back when, I’d probably be retired in Tahiti right now.

So here’s the shocking news…

Sean and I are doing something completely different.

We’re going against the grain.

It would be easy for us to follow the proven model of filling a room with our Members and subscribers…and then selling a bunch of stuff.

But that wouldn’t be true to our Mission Statement. It wouldn’t be congruent. Because it wouldn’t help you get the results you want.

It would make us bookoo bucks, but it wouldn’t serve you.

So instead, we’re giving you the exact, step-by-step PLAN you need to make 2009 your most explosively profitable and fulfilling year ever when you attend the NPE Mega-Training Workshop in October.

We’re putting at risk over 65K to give you what you need more than anything else…

The Proven Blueprint for a Mega-Profitable Fitness Business.

The plan - the roadmap - step-by-step - soup to nuts.

And we’ve developed a PROCESS for doing so.  Unlike an “event” where you show up, sit down, listen and then buy more stuff - two or three days of wham-bam-thank-you-maam, then you’re outtie and on your own…

…we’ve developed a SYSTEM for teaching you the SYSTEM.

You’ll be provided pre-workshop grounding materials, exercises, interaction, coaching and training that prepares you to take full advantage of the time we have together before, during and after the Workshop in Boston October 11 and 12.

You’ll arrive already warmed up, with a nice sweat going, ready to get into action and MAXIMIZE every minute - wringing every bit of value from this workshop.

Then you’ll go home knowing precisely what to do next.  Let me say that again…you’ll go home knowing PRECISELY what to do next.  No confusion, no hangover, no “seminar blues.”

And we even follow-up the workshop with TWO webinar-conference calls to address any unanswered questions and to provide on-going coaching, training and direction.

We don’t leave you hanging…alone…and confused.

So this is NOT an ‘event’ - it’s a process.  And that’s how plans are developed, habits are formed, systems are implemented. And it’s this process that guarantees 2009 will be your best, most profitable year ever in the fitness business.

   ***********************
    More shocking news…
   ***********************

There’s one thing every fitness business MUST have in order to prosper, and it’s this:

  ==> Marketing collateral <==

You must have tools for delivering your message to your market. And for most, if not all, that is the primary stumbling block - the biggest obstacle.

Until now, it’s been almost impossible for all but a handful of fit-pros to determine which tools they need, let alone create them all.  But that problem goes away now.  Because all attendees of the NPE Mega-Training Workshop are going to be handed the ULTIMATE MARKETING TOOL CHEAT SHEET.

This makes producing top-notch, response-inducing, client-generating marketing tools a simple, step-by-step process anyone can follow.

And it’ll blow you away.

   ********************
    Let’s Wrap This Up
   ********************

I know this has been a long note, and I appreciate you reading it all the way through. And the fact that you’ve read this far tells me something: you get it. You understand the value of what we do here at NPE. You realize and appreciate that “ideas and a nickel will get you a stick of gum” - but systems, tools and coaching will explode your fit-biz profits.

The fact that you’re reading this tells me you don’t want to go through the 9 year trial and error phase I went through trying to piece everything together and figure it all out on my own. You want the shortcut, the proven path, the plan, the blueprint.

  ==> THE MISSING LINK! <==

And that’s exactly what you get when you register now for the NPE Mega-Training Workshop.

And when you register today you save 100 bucks with the Early Bird Discount.

You can even take advantage of the EZ-pay monthly equalizer payment plan.

If you’re a serious fitness professional, this really is a simple decision. And a decision you will look back on as one of the wisest of your career.

Go here to register now and save with the early bird discount:

http://www.NPEMegaTraining.com

And let us show you the money.

Respectfully,

Eric Ruth
NPE, LLC

P.S. You can have the complete fitness marketing blueprint and 52-week marketing calendar, plus the pre-workshop training, post-workshop training, the ULTIMATE MARKETING TOOL CHEAT SHEET (which is stunningly powerful), and more that I can’t even tell you about now…plus the opportunity to spend two days networking with some of the most successful fit-biz owners in America and world-wide. This is how breakthroughs are made, my friend. We look forward to seeing you there. Register now at:

Here’s the hottest seller during the NPE sale

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Here’s an interesting bit of info for you about the NPE Freedom Sale…

The hottest selling product, by a factor of 2, is the AUTO-CLOSER Fitness Sales System.

Twice as many AUTO-CLOSERs have sold than the next best seller, which is DUPLICATOR Fitness Business Management System.

And the third best seller?

The AUTO-CLOSER + DUPLICATOR Bundle!

I swear I’m not making this stuff up.

http://www.NPEFreedomSale.com

I just talked to Christina and she said the phones and web chat in our online store are, in her words, “blowing up.”

“Brigett was running three live chats simultaneously at one point,” Christina said.

So, as usual, things heat up right near the end.

But we don’t want anyone to miss out on this last chance to get all individual NPE Products at 30% off, and bundled products up to 58% off. So we’re going to extend the sale until 5pm Eastern Time today.

Since the store is new, the chat is new and we’re all sort of scrambling to make sure everything works for you guys, it just makes sense to extend the sale for 2 more hours to make sure everybody is happy and gets what they want.

But 5pm eastern time is the drop dead deadline — the NPE Freedom sale will shut down at 5PM today.

So be sure to head on over and make your choices right now:

http://www.NPEFreedomSale.com

Have a great weekend,

Eric Ruth

P.S. Batman Dark Knight opens today!  Really looking forward to seeing that one. Christian Bale is the best Batman, in my opinion, and Heath Ledger’s Joker is supposed to be a sociopath of the highest order. Can’t wait to see the conflict…and the ass-kickin!

P.P.S. Sale ends at 5pm Eastern today:

Big News Coming Tomorrow AM

Monday, July 14th, 2008

I’m sending this e-mail later than intended today, but still wanted to get it out the door to you anyway.

I’ve got some big news to share.

But first, the background you may or may not know about…

July is a special month for us over here.

This month marks the official 2-year anniversary of NPE.

Hard to believe… but just 2 years ago Eric and I got together to form NPE. And I’ll tell you what, things have grown FAR beyond any of our original expectations.

It is truly amazing how much we’ve grown and how far we’ve come in a such a short period of time.

And we have you, our customers, to thank for that.

So, from the bottom of our hearts, I want to thank each and every one of you for the pleasure it is to serve you.

We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without your support. And I’ll tell you the past 2 years was just a warm-up… we’ve got a LOT more to come!

Ok, onto the big news for today…

Over the past 3 months we’ve been hard a work to put together an ‘online store’ where we have a complete listing of all our products and programs… all in one place.

Up until now we’ve only had a bunch of random bits-and-pieces of everything scattered in different places.

With MANY of our products that we’ve released during different launches, not even available ANYWHERE online.

Well, after a lot of hard work we’ve pulled everything together.

And tomorrow morning we’ll be launching a BIG SALE to celebrate both our 2-year anniversary and the opening of our new webstore.

We’re calling it the FREEDOM SALE.

The name has special meaning to us, because that’s what NPE Members are doing with all our systems, tools, and coaching… they’re “FREE-ING” themselves from all the problems the average fitness professional or studio owner faces.

So, tomorrow morning keep your eyes peeled for a special e-mail from me with the subject line “FREEDOM SALE”.

It’ll contain the link to our new online store, and a special code for you to grab anything you’ve been waiting to get your hands on….

…FOR 30% OFF!

That’s right.

Everything we’ve got… including some products and programs you probably weren’t even aware we had available… will be posted with a special code for you to grab everything at a 30% discount.

It’s time to celebrate… and empower yourself to FREEDOM.

More to come tomorrow,
Sean

You Sell It, But Do You Buy It?

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Sounds like a riddle…

“You sell it, but do you buy it?”

But it’s not a riddle, it’s a very serious question.

Think back on the most influential people in your life.

Chances are, each one of them ‘coached’ you in some way or another.

I know that’s the case for me.

Vaughn, my high school chemistry teacher and volleyball coach, coached me how to think analytically and critically, lead a team and play within myself.

My mom coached me how to love unconditionally (sappy, but true!)

My copywriting mentor, Lynne Sheridan, coached me on developing story, creating urgency and arousing curiosity.

My older brother, Mike, coached me how to shotgun a beer :)

Actually, when he wasn’t ridiculing me for the way I combed my hair (yes, I DID have hair back in the day) he was most influential in coaching me how to be independent and self-reliant.

Phyllis, the old Piano Shop diva, coached me how to sell.

Halbert, Kennedy and Abraham coached me how to market strategically.

My good friend, Ron, coached me how to influence and persuade.

My dad coached me how to be a man, get things done and always take responsibility.

Those are the BIG impact coaches I’ve had in my life, but there are many, many more coaches who influenced me.

Five years ago, when Brandy and I got interested in real estate, we got coached by an investment expert.

Right now, we’re going through coaching with a financial planner.

I get coaching from Sean and Dick on organization, time management and systemization.

I’m being coached by the best in the business on a specific technology (mind-mapping) that I’m trying to master (had a class yesterday) so I can keep up with Sean.

The list goes on.

Why do we invest in coaching?

Why do your clients come to YOU for coaching?

To leverage your expertise, right? To get speed and efficiencies, to get results faster and with greater certainty.

You sell it, but do you buy it?

Brandy and I want to learn ballroom dancing. We could go buy a book or dvd, but that’s not as efficient as finding a good instructor and getting coached by an expert. We want to be proficient quickly, so we’ll get the coach.

Who have your coaches been? Who are they now?

When we’re younger, we get coached on just about everything. But after we get out of school, for a lot of people, the coaching ends.

Not necessarily because they don’t appreciate the value, but usually because of a price rationalization.

What’s interesting is that there’s probably no greater ROI than coaching.

It’s how breakthroughs are achieved.

You know that - you see it in your clients every day.

If you were/are a competitive athlete, in many cases it’s the quality of coaching that helped you reach the next higher level.

WHAT’S THAT WORTH?

I’m on mission to get back into competitive sports. I used to play A-level volleyball, but haven’t since I moved down to Raleigh. Now I’m going to pick up tennis. I’m searching for a coach - not a book or dvd or even a playing partner…a great coach.

Because I want to get good…fast.

And nothing’s more valuable to me than my time.

What about yours - how valuable is your time?

What’re speed and leverage worth to you?

You sell it, but do you buy it?

Maybe a better way to say that is…

“You sell it, but do you BELIEVE it?”

You believed it was necessary for your technical training - so you got certified.

Do you believe it’s necessary for your business training?

I hope so, because the reality is any fool can make soap, but it takes a clever person to sell it.

Fitness service providers are a dime a dozen.

Even really great fitness experts are not hard to find.

What’s hard to find are great fitness experts who are also great fitness business owners.

If you’re passionate about helping people, as I believe you are, then you’re probably an excellent TECHNICIAN of your trade - an excellent coach.

That and a nickel will get you a stick of gum.

The only thing that keeps you in business and gives you the lifestyle and freedom you want, is mastering the business side of fitness. THAT skill will buy you anything you desire.

If you want to be an excellent technician AND an excellent fit-biz owner, then doesn’t it make sense to get coached by someone like Sean Greeley who built a 650+ client fit-biz, created the most successful fitness sales system in the history of this industry (AUTOCLOSER) and the fit-biz management system that ‘clones’ you (DUPLICATOR)? He not only created them, he is the primary implementation coach for those systems, too.

You think you could learn a few things from him?

You think the ROI would be pretty significant?

You think there would be real speed and leverage there?

If you’re a doubting thomas, check out the success stories and ‘hall of fame’ on our website at:

http://www.FitnessMarketingSystems.com

I challenge you to find anyone - ANYONE - else in this industry who has the quantity and quality of testimonials - of PROOF - we do that what we teach actually works…actually puts muney in your pockets, not takes it out.

You sell it, but do you buy it? Do you actually believe you can achieve the business breakthrough you want with the right coaching and guidance - just as you tell your prospects and clients they can achieve their fitness breakthrough by working with you?

If you do, that business breakthrough begins by registering for the f.r.e.e. NPE Membershp Orientation we’re doing today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. eastern time.

You’ll learn all about us, what we do, how we do it and how we can help you get to where you want to go…fast!

And you’ll get to see the inside of our ‘command central’ NPE Membership Site. It’s an awesome ‘virtual’ mastermind of very serious fit-biz owners.

Register for the orientation here:

http://www.NPEMembershipSite.com

I look forward to speaking with you later today,

Eric Ruth

P.S. We’ve got almost 120 more testimonials and success stories we’ll be adding to the site over the coming month. They fly in so fast and furious, it’s hard to post them quick enough. You can stay on the sidelines and watch us pile up more and more success stories from other fit-pros as long as you want, but one thing’s for certain…you only score if you’re in the game.

Get registered, and get in the game - let us coach you up - and watch your fit-biz explode. It really is just that simple. You’ll see that on the orientation webinar today. Register for it here:

http://www.NPEMembershipSite.com

P.P.S. This orientation is for NPE Members AND non-Members alike. If you’re a Member, this is your chance to learn how to take full advantage of all the great stuff on the Membership site, if you’re a non-Member, this is your chance to get ‘behind the curtains’ and see how we do things so you can make an informed decision about us, without pressure or obligation.

The Secret I Learned Selling Baby Grand Pianos

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Summer’s coming - lean times ahead, unless…

You discover how to convert EVERY prospect to a paying client for twice the profit.

Just two spots left in May 14th training:
http://www.AutoCloserSales.com

Back when I was in college at George Mason University, I sold pianos for a summer - a lot of them.

I don’t play the piano, or any instrument, for that matter. I’m the only person in my family without a lick of musical talent.

My mom was a gifted pianist and singer - she cut a record as the soloist for her Church choir back in the early 60’s.

My dad’s pretty good on the piano (well, he used to be).

My older brother, Mike, went to Berklee College of Music in Boston to play the drums. It’s about the most famous music school in the country with alumni like Steve Vai, Quincy Jones, Melissa Ethridge, Branford
Marsalis and John Mayer.

Now Mike’s a Navy Pilot. Go figure.

My younger brother, Zak, is an alternative rock/metal drummer with a band called Common Effect. He’s also 6′ 4″ and 230lbs of muscle, so he THRASHES the drum kit. It’s something to see.

Me, well - I could do a little break dancing back in the day - but I don’t think that counts.

Every other salesperson at the Piano Shop where I worked was a musician. A couple of them were really, really good.

But they struggled with sales.

Just goes to show you that technical profiency in a particular field has no bearing at all on your ability to sell.

Because sales, like playing music, is a skill that must be learned.

And I learned it from one of the best - the owner of the Piano Shop, an older (60′ish) woman named Phyllis.

She had a beehive hairdo and the heavy foundation makeup, a kinda raspy voice from all the cigs she puffed on during the day…she reminded me of a rougher version of Endora, Samantha’s Aunt from BeWitched (the great TV show, not the crappy movie).

Phyllis was ‘old school’ sales. She got down to business.

And she followed (and taught us to follow) a SYSTEM.

She called her sales system the ‘education.’

“Eric, dear, this young couple would like an education,” she’d say to me when handing off a prospect.

For the first month I worked there, I resisted following the ‘education’ and relied instead on what I thought was a God-given silver tongue. I could schmooze with the best of them, and developed rapport quickly.

That worked about half the time.

But 50% closing was most definitely NOT satisfactory to the old battle-axe Phyllis.

So she watched me like a hawk to make sure I gave the complete ‘education’ to every prospect.

And there was some improvement when I followed the system. Enough for me to get a ‘taste’ of how well it ‘could’ work, if I got better at delivering it.

So I went to Phyllis and asked her for some help - I asked her to work with me on my education. And she lit up like the White House Christmas tree. She’d found her ‘protege’ and she was stoked.

Phyllis coached me and drilled with me. We did a lot of role playing until I had it down cold. And she’d watch me work with a prospect and critique me afterwards. It was absolutely priceless training.

And, well, it worked like crazy. I began selling to every person who walked into the store.

I sold Schimmel baby grands at ten to fifteen thou each, and Weber and Yamaha uprights at three to five. And I sold a lot of them. I made almost 20K that summer.

And the bulk of that came in the second half - when I got serious about getting coaching on how to deliver the education like a polished professional.

If it weren’t for Phyllis coaching me, I would have been an average 50% closer like the other salespeople at the Piano Shop who reflexively relied on their musical skills to sell - just as I had relied on my wits.

Those guys resisted coaching from Phyllis - while I embraced it. They drank Schlitz after work. I drank Heineken.

Getting good at sales was the foundation on which I’ve built my career. Now I just do it more in print than in person. Getting good at sales is the single most important skill any business person can learn.

If I have children, they will be required to get sales jobs at some point. It doesn’t just prepare you for business, it prepares you for life.

And being good at sales is almost always a function of two things:

1. The quality of your system
2. The quality of coaching you get

So it’s no surprise that every fitness professional who goes through our AUTO-CLOSER sales system training just explodes their numbers.

Because Dick and Sean are the two best salespeople and sales trainers I’ve ever seen. You cannot get better training and a better system anywhere, at any price.

And make no mistake, the training and coaching is the secret.

Think about it. You can give some outta shape guy the best fitness protocol ever developed, but if he doesn’t get trained on how to follow it (and have accountability and coaching along the way), chances are
really good he’ll get less than half the results he would were he actually working with you, right?

Now’s your chance to get the sales training/coaching -and the sales system - that is having the most profound, documented impact on the fitness industry than any other.

We still have two openings in our next AUTO-CLOSER live training beginning May 14.

They’ll certainly be gone by the end of the day today, so grab your spot now - and explode your sales just like every single fit-pro has who’s gone through the training. Go here to claim your spot:

http://www.AutoCloserSales.com

Get trained by the best,
Eric Ruth

P.S. Summer is coming. That’s slow season. Every single prospect REALLY counts. Closing at 50% is a recipe for trouble when you need every single client you can get. Double your closing and double your profits starting now:

P.P.S. If price is an issue for you, I encourage you to listen to the couple dozen testimonials from your fellow fit-pros that are halfway down the page. When you can close eleven grand in one day like Cliff Latham, or go from 2500/month to 20K/month in 30 days like April Smith, or have an 80 grand month like Ed Downes, close 8K packages like Neil Edwards…the list goes on…well, what’s THAT worth?

There are few guarantees in life - few ’sure things.’ This is one of them. Not one person who’s gone through AUTO-CLOSER has failed to immediately explode his or her sales…to the tune of tens of thousands. Now it’s your turn.

Like we say, “the numbers don’t lie.”

Eric’s B-day Photo!

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Eric's Birthday

We celebrated Eric’s b-day in the office on Tuesday, just before getting on the Gold Plus call-in day marathon (which was exhausting, but a blast - thank you to all who participated and to those who couldn’t get through- we’ll have another next quarter).

If you haven’t wished him a happy b-day yet, you can do so by sending a message through the contact form above. The ol’ man turned 42 years young! :)

Special Platinum Training This Past Weekend

Monday, March 31st, 2008

NPE Platinum NST

This past weekend we had several Platinum members in town for a special training on a new program we’re developing. Can’t tell you all about it right now, but you’ll be hearing more in about 3-6 months.

We’re pretty excited about it and in many ways this brings NPE “full circle”.

Featured in front row: Hut Allred, David Dubail, Dick, Jane Westreich, Ryan Schroeder. Back row: Chrissy & Tony Maslan, myself and Christina, Rita Jagodzinski, Eric & Brandy, Chris Hill, and Andy Maus.

Was a fun weekend had by all, the boys should be dried out by now from their Friday night escapades (led by Hut of course), and we got to watch UNC beat up on Louisville Saturday night. Looking forward to the final 4 this week.

-Sean
