Hope you’ve had a great Thanksgiving holiday.

We all enjoyed a good day off yesterday, and Christina and I celebrated Thanksgiving dinner with Eric & Brandy at their house.

Unfortunately Eric’s Mom got sick, so his parents couldn’t make the trip, but Eric’s 95-years-young grandfather came out all the way from Charlotte to join us.

Wes Ruth (Eric’s grandad) is a former Navy pilot and is by FAR the sharpest 95 year old I’ve ever met.

My grandad is 98 and still going strong, but I think if they were to wrestle, I would have to give the advantage to Wes no contest! :)

Anyway, there are several things I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving holiday…

I am thankful that in this economy I have put in the time and effort to learn marketing, sales, and management skills that will help our companies and our members clients not only survive this economy but THRIVE in it!

I’m thankful that we’ve been able to share tremendous fitness business development systems, tools, and coaching with all our members and while others are struggling right now… our members continue to have their BEST MONTHS EVER!

And I’m thankful that as we continue to grow as a company over here, we’ve attracted even more great people to join our programs and “RISE UP” to new levels of achievement and success in their businesses (and therefore their lives).

Well Eric, Christina and I got back late last night from St. Louis.

We were there attending the Dan Kennedy Info-Summit and it was a great event.

Not only did we learn a ton and have several successful meetings over the trip, but we presented our story Friday morning to the packed house and then on Sunday afternoon were awarded “Info-Marketers of The Year”.

This is a tremendous honor, and one which we are proud to receive.

Dan Kennedy and Bill Glazer have pioneered everything in the Info-Marketing world… and are ‘godfathers’ of the industry today.

To receive their award for the #1 Info-Marketing company of the year just incredible.

What NPE Members Are Doing (new video)

This morning we’ll all moving a little slow after yesterday’s Fitness Marketing Explosion webinar.

Was a big showing (as always) and today’s clean up day.

Then going to get a little rest before Eric and I fly to Boston tomorrow night for this weekend’s MEGA TRAINING event.

The last couple week’s have been so busy here, I’m overdue in sharing this with you.

Here’s the (back)story:

Last year we started an annual “NPE Member of the Year” contest, and all the top members sent in packages for review. Each shared examples and stories of how much they’re grown and why they should be chosen for the award.

This year, since we’re bringing everyone together live for the MEGA TRAINING event in Boston, we thought we’d run the contest a little different.

We invited members to submit packages as usual, but then Eric, Dick, and I had the grueling task of sifting through those packages to choose 5 finalists to present LIVE on stage Saturday night at the event.

This year, the members will vote and choose the NPE member of the year.

And I’ll tell you what, the competition is tough!

Picking 5 finalists out of the 13 LARGE packages we received was very hard.

But picking a winner out of these 5 is going to be even tougher!

“I would have many time wasting consultations with highly unqualified clients and then I would almost beg them to start training with me.  In the process of doing all those wasted intro sessions, I would consider selling a package of 12 sessions a victory.

I am now closing 7 out of 10 consultations for either silver package (36 sessions) or gold package (75 sessions). I am improving each time I run the auto- closer system and know that I will soon close on a platinum package (100 sessions) or even better.”

Problem Building Secrets

Okay, so problem building works like this - the bigger the health/fitness problem your prospect faces the more eager they’ll be to buy your services.

For example, if a doctor has told someone they have 30 days to live unless they get into an exercise program and lose weight right now… well that someone has a big and obvious problem - death - and so, you shouldn’t have to struggle too hard closing them on a package.

Because, you’re selling the CURE.

But, what about someone who is slightly overweight or slightly unfit - they have a problem sure, but it’s not a HUGE and URGENT problem - at least not to them and not right now. So at this point they’re not fully, 100% commited to getting in shape, and of course this makes them a hard close.

Because, you’re selling PREVENTION. And getting someone into a training program for 3hrs a week to prevent poor health in later life just doesn’t turn most people on, because they never think they’ll get to the point where they NEED it like Mr. 30 Days To Live does.

And so, when you’re closing this kind of prospect (99% of the time), it’s your job as a sales superstar to bring any potential problems right into the front of their mind - as if the problems have already developed, and they need to cure them fast!
